Special Education

• General Education with Push-In Supports: Designed for students who benefit from the full general education experience but require targeted accommodations. Special education professionals enter the regular classroom to provide real-time instructional modifications, scaffolding, and behavioral support, allowing students to remain fully integrated with their peers.

• Co-Taught Collaborative Model: In this integrated approach, a licensed special education teacher works side-by-side with a general education content expert as a unified classroom teaching team. This collaborative model naturally embeds specialized instruction and IEP services directly into core content classes, ensuring students have full access to grade-level curriculum within a regular education setting.

• Resource Room Small-Group Instruction: For students requiring more intensive, targeted academic intervention, Desert Oasis offers small-group programming inside our resource rooms. This setting allows special education teachers to deliver explicit, data-driven remedial instruction to bridge specific learning gaps in core academic and executive functioning areas.

• Self-Contained Functional & Independent Living Programs: Tailored for students whose complex needs require an alternative, highly specialized pathway. This program shifts the instructional focus toward essential communication, community-based instruction, and practical independent living skills, heavily prioritizing personal autonomy, safety, and long-term functional independence.
