Video Production
The Video Production Program of Study at Desert Oasis High School is a dynamic two-level course pathway designed for 9th and 10th-grade students eager to explore filmmaking and news reporting. Led by Mr. James—a veteran educator with over 15 years of experience in CCSD—the program operates out of Rooms 1104 and 1105, which houses DOTV, the program's official broadcasting arm responsible for producing a daily, comprehensive school newscast. Students who commit to this pathway can earn unique incentives, including college credit, a distinct graduation cord, a special diploma, and even a "VID PRO" varsity letter. For those who advance to the third year of studies, the focus shifts to high-level independent portfolio projects designed to secure future employment, college admissions, and valuable scholarships.
