NV Purple Star School

Desert Oasis High School acknowledges and celebrates our Diamondback families, our Purple Star families, who have a military connection. As a school, we understand that Purple Star students experience unique circumstances and situations. We want every military family to know that we will support and help them through transition into and beyond Desert Oasis High School. This webpage is designed to provide you with easy access links to helpful resources. In addition, our Diamondback teachers and staff have experience in assisting military-connected students and their families, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to our advocates and your school counselor for additional assistance.


These are some of the supports we will provide our military students in transition:

  • A transition team consisting of students from Army JROTC, military families, veterans, and a counselor assigned to the student’s graduating class is available to help ease the transition of military children into the school.
  • During April on Purple Up Day, we wear purple to celebrate our military-connected families.
  • Army JROTC students welcome new/military students as they transition to our school.
  • Army JROTC Instructors are retired Soldiers with extensive knowledge of resources available to military families.

He serves the Desert Oasis High School Diamondback community and is honored to serve our military-connected families. He knows first hand that military families serve, too. He will support families as they navigate the complexities of transition and deployment.
